Latest Update: 7 September 2008

Author of Enemy Mine, Infinity Hold, Circus World, the Jaggers & Shad Mysteries, Sea of Glass, Saint Mary Blue, and more.

Barry is the first writer to win the Hugo, Nebula, and John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer all in the same year. In addition to his acclaimed Enemy Mine Series, his works include the Circus World and Infinity Hold series, SF & fantasy novels, recovery and writing instruction works, and numerous short stories. Currently he researching his new Civil War mystery-thriller (Untitled for the moment).

Recent additions to his works include two omnibus editions. The first is The Enemy Papers (see below. The second is Infinity Hold\3, the complete IH trilogy: Infinity Hold, Kill All The Lawyers, and Keep The Law. Lately he has sent off two manuscripts to his agent: ABC is for Artificial Beings Crimes and Turning the Grain. ABC is the collected award-winning Jaggers & Shad stories, including two never before published. Turning the Grain . . . well, that's a surprise.

Omnibus Edition: THE ENEMY PAPERS

Beginning with the multiple award winning "Enemy Mine," THE ENEMY PAPERS covers war and peace from a man's point-of-view, a woman's in The Tomorrow Testament, and a Drac's in the final novel of the trilogy, The Last Enemy. It was an impossible war to end and planned that way. But the fantasy of peace has a funny way of making beings think along new paths.

In addition to the complete Enemy Mine trilogy, this work includes a Drac-English English-Drac Berlitz for galactic travelers, the collected fragments of the Drac Talman, and two essays: "On Alien Languages" and "Run Drac Run." The former tells some of the fun and frustrations of inventing languages for creatures from outer space. The latter is the full, uncut, never-before-told tale of the writing of the trilogy, including the making of the motion picture Enemy Mine and surviving the writing of Enemy Mine: The Movie Tie-In novel (with David Gerrold). Touch on the icon to be taken to the beginning of The Last Enemy.

Webmansion Overhaul: Build it, rip it out, do it over

It seems we can't have a book store and a movie store and use the same shopping cart for both (or, at least, we can't figure it out). So, it was necessary to combine the two into a single establishment, Barry's Book & Movie Emporium, with book departments and movie departments. This required tearing out and replacing all the address bars and changing the bookstore names and links here and there. I hope I've gotten them all. If you find links that go to the wrong places or no place at all, please Email us and let us know. Thanks and thank you for your patience during the reconstruction.

Illness kept me away from updates for many months, and some things do not improve with age (like outdated links and Email addresses). When everything is up and running, it's designed to make keeping current much more simple. Said Simple Simon to the pieman, "Let me see your wares." Said the pieman (to Simple Simon) "Go to Barry's Book & Movie Emporium."

It doesn't scan, but it makes buying easier.
